How To Calm Someone Down

It doesn't matter how old you are or whether your a man or a women, everyone at one point of the other will get upset. The trick of the matter is not necessary figuring out why that one person gets mad, because lets be honest, it could be many things, but it is how to calm that person down once they do get upset. There are a lot of different ways to calm someone down, however, here are the best three techniques I have come up with.

First:

Have them drink something cool. I know it seems dumb to try and give someone who is having a panic attack or a melt down something to drink, but it works. Make them sit down, and if they don't give them a cool water or Gatorade to walk around with. It is proven that when someone gets upset there temperature rises, therefore giving them something cool to drink will actually lower the temperature of their body to a degree that will actually start calming them down physically.

Second:

Get them sitting down, most people feel if someone is up set it is good for them to run around and get their anger out. Wrong, this is something they must do afterwards. They must calm down before they hurt themselves or others. If getting them to sit down is too hard, make sure they are in a room where they can hurt themselves or do something foolish. Have them stand in a corner and take deep breathes.

Third:

This might seem a little strange however I promise it works. It has been proven that rubbing someones head, or scratching their hair (or playing with it for girls) is a way to calm someone down. This not only relaxes your whole body but it slows the blood flow from the brain into the body. This is not only scientifically proven but it is something that I have personally experienced to work.
